Our foster birds LOVE to eat. Your donation will help provide food for our foster families so that our birds never go hungry. Foster families like to give their birds a variety of treats, healthy fruits and veggies as well as their normal food. We try to transition all of our birds to a pellet diet if they are not on one already.

Birds LOVE and NEED to be entertained. Bird toys can get VERY expensive, especially for large birds. Our fosters often get creative, making toys out of cardboard, old wood pieces, etc. Since parrots need tons of stimulation, we make sure our foster birds have plenty of toys to shred, jingle and play on in their cages.

Often our birds do not come into the rescue with cages. If a bird's cage was damaged, dirty, or causing harm to the bird, STAR provides the bird with a new cage. Cages can be expensive, and are an imperative part of our organization, especially considering we do not have a shelter and rely on fosters to house the birds.
