HELP WITH SPECIES IDENTIFICATION

Not sure if the bird you have is a Jenday Conure or a Sun Conure? That’s ok. We’re here to assist! We’re happy to help you properly identify the species of parrot in your care.

TRANSFER BIRD INTO OUR FOSTER PROGRAM

Most shelters are at, or over, capacity. Let us help where we can. If you have a parrot in your care, we can transfer the bird into our foster and adoption program.

STAR has over 40 approved foster homes equipped to care for parrots of all species. Parrots are vetted and placed in a temporary home where they can be part of the family. The low bird to foster ratio allows each bird to receive important behavioral and socialization work, which improves their chance of thriving in a new home.

AID IN REUNITING LOST AND FOUND BIRDS WITH THEIR FAMILY

We are connected to a wide network of bird owners and enthusiasts through social media. Contact us to help reunite a found bird with its owner or alert the public about a lost pet bird.

ADVISE ON PARROT CARE

Birds require special care and are extremely sensitive to environmental toxins. We are here to help you navigate the do’s and don’ts of parrot care. We can also help with nutrition guidance, proper cage requirements and behavioral assistance.

ASSIST WITH EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES

While it may work to place a stray parrot in a dog or cat kennel in an emergency, from a hygiene and safety standpoint, that is not an ideal solution.

DOES YOUR FACILITY HAVE A BIRD CAGE?  We’d like to gift you a cage complete with perches, dishes and toys so temporary residents have a safe enclosure while in your care.
